On Choosing Books To Buy

Just realised the books I bought as post-marking treats (for when I get through the 22 hours of marking due Thursday, it now being midnight on Friday…) fully epitomise all the possible ways of choosing a book to read. Observe:

books

Exhibit A: bought for title, because hello awesome. Also further convinced by premise – a girl who can taste emotions? So cool.

Exhibit B: bought based on a gazillion recommendations of people I trust.

Exhibit C: bought for the world. This is a related-stand alone to Marchetta’s Saving Francesca, which is one of my Favouritest Books Ever.

Exhibit D: bought for author, Maggie Stiefvater, one of my Favouritest Authors Ever.

Exhibit E: bought for cover, because hello, pretty. But, as for A, I checked to make sure the story was something that a) sounded like I’d have a reasonable chance of enjoying it and b) had a decent overall rating on GoodReads 😉

So there you have it. All possible ways of choosing a book, in one shopping spree. Rah.

PS Contenty posts coming soon, including that Book Birthday Giveaway. I’m drowning under marking and reports for another week. After that, you won’t be able to shut me up 😉 😀
