Top 5 Writing Books For Writing Peoples

So I’m back at work, and although I’m EXHAUSTED, I’m not dead yet. But I am totally cheating and posting a Top 5 List because *brain*. And maybe on Wednesday you’ll get birthday party photos or something, because *more brain*. But anyway O:) 😀

Actually, scratch that: you can have a birthday party photo now, on the off chance that you’re not a writer and thus not interested in the Top 5 Writing Books For Writing Peoples :o)

And now, the list. In no particular order:

  1. Take Off Your Pants!: Outline Your Books For Faster, Better Writing ~ Libbie Hawker
  2. Save The Cat! ~ Blake Snyder
  3. Rise of the Machines: Human Authors In A Digital World ~ Kristen Lamb
  4. Discoverability ~ Kristine Kathryn Rusch
  5. The Freelancer’s Survival Guide ~ Kristine Kathryn Rusch

All five of these books have made me stop and squee hard at various points. You know when you’re shouting YES, EXACTLY at the screen that what you’re reading is probably pretty good 😉 4 and 5 are aimed more at self publishers, but TBH marketing and promotion is the domain of EVERY author these days, so really, you can’t go wrong with informing yourself.

I know this is a bit of a ‘soft sell’ post–sorry about the lack of brain cells–but trust me: these five books are AWESOME, and potentially even LIFE-CHANGING. If you’re interested in a career as a writer, go read them. Like, yesterday. :o)
