Holidays: An Accounting

Or, a post in which I persist in typing ‘hollidays’ >.<

So anyway, it’s spring break now in Australia-land, not that anyone in Australia land calls it that, but woo hoo! Two full, glorious weeks in which I do not have to attend my place of employ! (I’m not going to say ‘in which I do not have to work’, because that is what we in the biz call ‘a lie’.)

I’m also trying hard not to force myself to be Productive particularly this holidays – my brain is still recuperating from the horrors of celiac testing/deliberate gluten poisoning and how-doody does that screw up your system like nothing else.

Also I hear not killing yourself with perfectionism and productivity is good. I hear this.

So last weekend, we were Out Of Town and I officially met The Bus: back in early August my husband bought a 42-seater coach that is now mid-transformation into a mobile home/mobile office for us/him respectively. Behold, choosing floor colours:

Tuesday I had an osteo appointment (testing out a new guy to try to keep my spine alignments aligned, because at the moment the only person who is effective against my joint hypermobility syndrome lives 5 hours’ away and I day-trip to see them each holidays usually and that’s… I mean it’s *fine*, but having a local body magician would be *better*, you know?) and then napped for four hours and then took my son notionally to go grocery shopping to let le husband, who now works from home, work in peace… aaannnd we spent over an hour browsing the toy store just because and were out for like 3 hours in the end? Did not plan for that. But still. Relaxing, Boy Child had fun, etc etc huzzah.

Wednesday SQUEAK ERMAGERSH much fun. I have this friend who is a professional photographer/social media guru/pastry chef (I KNOW, WHAT A COMBINATION, ONE DAY SHE WILL RULE THE WORLD PROBABLY) and who was looking for things to photograph to test out the new studio her new business partner has. OH HO, says I. I HAVE NOT ONE, OR TWO, BUT *FIVE* SETS OF THINGS FOR YOU TO PHOTOGRAPH, if you include myself, which she did, so there was that.

Anyway, we spent nearly 8 hours photographing things (or, well, they did, I watched/decorated four cakes/passed props) and it was tiring and glorious. You’ll see the pics around the place when I get them 🙂 (Including my Instagram feed, and the Inkprint Press feed, which will be ALIVE hopefully very soon.)

Which meant today was bum-around-the-house-doing-nothing-and-letting-the-kids-watch-too-much-TV day, though the universe contrived to have me on the phone from 10am until nearly 2pm o.O

But! As aforementioned and Seen On Instagram, I am trying to just let today be whatever it is without judgement or PRoDuCTIviTyYYYY freak outs, so.

As you can probably tell from the tone of this post, Chipper!Amy is occasionally starting to make reappearances. Doom!Amy is probably safely dispatched, although Anxious!Amy is likely to hang around for several more months yet (and then sporadically after that, because wild lions). In practical terms, this means that a) I can hopefully get blogging back on track, and b) I’m working toward getting *writing* back on track.

You know. That thing I tell everyone I do, but which I haven’t actually done since, mm, Easter.

Like reading, and OMG I READ TWO BOOKS THIS WEEK. …I’ll probably squee about that next week, because this ramblefest is long enough for today.

Anyway. Hi! It’s nice to be kind of sort of backish. I hope the last five months have not eaten your face off <3 <3 <3
