Things Are Getting Better

This year has been rough. My health + correlative mental health has been a disaster, work has been busier than it’s ever been before, my husband changed jobs, I was maybe going to change jobs at one point, three of my grandparents died in the last three months, the fourth got really sick ‘suddenly’ (looked sudden, was actually just the result of steadily declining health due to long-term health problems) and we had to race away interstate to go see her last week…….

Yeah. This year has been rough.

But last week was the fourth week in a row that I actually managed to write nearly every day. After a long, long drought wherein I was actually too sick to even read (hello, May through September!), I read 5 books in October and yeah, wrote more days than not. Let’s see…

Oh, wow. I wrote about 17,500 words in October! A good-average month is 20k, so considering I was getting back to writing cold after a complete, several-month break, I am suuuuper happy with that! (Actually, come back tomorrow and I might quickly chat about a technique I’ve rediscovered that I’m pretty sure is 99% responsible for this quick restart.)

So! This is a just quick and mostly pointless/rambly note to say that YAY! Things Are Getting Better 🙂

I’m so, so pleased to be back writing regularly again now, and I’m getting excited for 2020 releases. I’m *hoping* (fingers crossed!) that you might even actually get two full-length novels next year (amid all the shorter things that are helping me hit my goal of four releases per year, though I note that in 2017 and 2018 I actually had five releases per year, woo o.O). They have covers and everything already, and tentative release dates/plans – but I have to finish writing these things first, so you know :’D

And yes, one of those will be the next Mercury book, but because apparently it is impossible for me to write two books in the same series back-to-back, I’m finishing off FoxBook first, and then will get cracking on How Not To Ring The Hero’s Bell 😉

In the meantime, the ebook preorder of How To Create Life is live, and I should have pictures of the proof copy to share later this week – SO EXCITED about my impending box of proofs!

Anyway. Just me, checking in, and noting that life is – at least for now – back on some sort of track. Words are happening, books are coming, and 2020 is going to be a good year, because I said so 😛 <3

How are things in your corner of the world? <3
