ETA: So many typos. So, so many.Â
At least as far as writing goes. I am SO excited about all the projects I have in the wings, and I’m even more excited about being eventually able to share them with you. I know it doesn’t look like much on the surface, but trust me: behind the scenes, super amazing things are happening, and there are so many plans for 2018/19 and beyond. Here’s a couple of highlights that I can share, some of which you know about already, some of which you don’t:
- Sanctuary series: Yes, there will be book three, I promise. And a couple of months after it’s out, there will also be the 3-book bundle, which will hit print as well as ebooks in an omnibus edition. I’ve seen the draft cover both for this and for Sanctuary 3, and YOU GUYS, THEY ARE SO PRETTY. *kissy heart eyes*
- The Kaditeos world: Mercury. Man, Mercury. You are going to LOVE Mercury, and even better, you’re going to fall head over heels for her ferret familiar, Bystar. This one will be a trilogy again, BUT this is a big, sprawling world with big, gutsy characters, and they’re all clamouring for sub-series of their own. So there will be the original Mercury trilogy, but probably down the road there will also be a standalone set in a different city, and a book or two or three about one of Mercury’s sisters. And probably more Mercury books, because she’s just like that.
- From The Ground Up is progressing better than expected. It *might* even be out before the end of the year. We’ll see how the last third of the fact-checking goes (plus I’m going to need to deal with the illustrations, since I can’t afford to hire someone :D).
- Theme for Writers is coming. This one came out of a few conversations on Twitter where I realised just exactly how scary theme is for a lot of people, and how many writers, even really really good ones, are still confused or intimidated by theme. Guys, seriously. Theme is easy. You ALL know how to do it. And because I’m a pretty darn good English teacher,* Imma prove it to you in this neat lil book.
- Short Stories – a whoooooole bunch of them are coming throughout the next couple of years as standalone singles, AND AS PRINT – WHOA. These will be lil tiny chap books that will be designed as a collectible series, with each one numbered and pretty :3 ETA: The collection now has a name, and behold, for they shall be Inklets *heart eyes*
…And that’s not even half of it. Did I mention I am so excited about writing this year? 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
